Dispenser 16 was one of the A.I. vending machines aboard Red Dwarf.
With female programming, Dispenser 16 was on friendly terms with Kryten, and was one of the machines who often played games such as Chinese whispers with Kryten late into the night.
One day, whilst Kryten and Arnold Rimmer inspected the deck for maintenance issues (since Rimmer had been hearing whining noises), they passed Dispenser 16 who said she had a great night with Kryten the night previously. Kryten told Rimmer that the game of Chinese whispers had began with "I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, on the slit sheet." However, Rimmer was "not remotely interested in some stupid parlour game you were playing with a talking condom machine and two Lil-Let dispensers."
Rimmer then told Kryten that Chinese whispers is "racist", and told Kryten to confirm this with all the other machines. This began a new bout of Chinese whispers on the subject, which would include the other Dwarfers, Dispenser 16 and 55, and Taiwan Tony. ("Fathers & Suns", Series X)

- It is never stated whereabouts on the ship Dispenser 16 was located, although it seems to be A Deck.

- Dispenser 16 went uncredited. Isla Ure portrayed 16, who also played Dispensers 23 and 34 in the Series X episode "Dear Dave".
