James Patrick Buckley (born 14 August 1987 in Croydon, London) is an an English vlogger, artist, musician, stand-up-comedian, actor and film director.

Buckley is perhaps best known for portraying the foul-mouthed Jay Cartwright in the BAFTA-winning E4 sitcom The Inbetweeners (2008-2010) and its subsequent movie adaptations.

Buckley starred in the BBC series Rock & Chips (2010), which is set in 1960 and is a prequel to Only Fools and Horses, one of the most acclaimed series ever made by the BBC. Buckley portrayed a young Del Boy, the role originally made famous by David Jason.

Buckley has the starring role in Zapped (2016-), a comedy in which he plays an office worker who becomes trapped in a medieval fantasy world. Zapped was produced by UKTV and shown on the Dave channel, the same channel which has produced and aired Red Dwarf since 2009.

Involvement with Red Dwarf[]

Buckley portrayed the character Rusty in the Red Dwarf Series XII episode "Siliconia".

James Buckley is a life-long fan of Red Dwarf, even though he was less than a year old when Series I was first broadcast. Buckley gained a part when he asked Doug Naylor for a role in the television series.[1]

James Buckley provided a series of interviews with the main cast of Red Dwarf shortly before the airing of Series XII.[2][3]
