Stellar Rescue is a promotional advertisement for the AA, an automotive insurance and repair company, featuring the cast of Red Dwarf.
Overview[]
When Starbug is stranded on a desolate, hostile planetoid; Cat panics, Kryten offers to sacrifice himself, Rimmer yells "one" in several languages into an archaic phone, and Lister calls on the AA for assistance.
Summary[]
Starbug is stranded in a barren alien wasteland that is experiencing a rough thunderstorm. Despite their attempts, Starbug fails to start and the crew begin to panic. Rimmer tries to contact help using the Space Rescue Service's breakdown procedure, which proves equally futile. However, Lister reassures everyone by saying he's called the AA, who arrive much to Rimmer's disbelief. The AA repairwoman comes onboard and fixes the ship, allowing them to make their escape, but not before Cat launches Rimmer out with an ejector seat button.
Noteworthy Dialogue[]
- Rimmer: Commencing standard emergency breakdown procedure. [takes out giant, red phone] Option one! Yes, one. One!
Kryten: Permission to strap myself to the roof and get struck by lightning, with any luck my exploding head will act as a distress flare to any passing ships!
Lister: Guys relax, I'm with the AA, just tap the app and help's on the way. You can even track the mechanic right to your side!
Rimmer: No one's gonna turn up three million years into deep spa... [AA van lands outside to the rescue]
Rimmer [into phone]: One!
