Steven Wickham is a British actor who has played two roles in Red Dwarf.
Biography[]
Steven began his career after leaving college and joining a theatre in education group called Bucket Theatre, touring schools in Buckinghamshire, performing on one occasion for HRH Princess Anne.
He has appeared on stage in productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Guys and Dolls and The Canterville Ghost. His television roles have included appearances in Doctor Who, Casualty, The Bill and Come Fly With Me.
He played Ech-ech-ech-ech-ech-ech-ech-ech, Lister's Kinitawowi wife, in the Red Dwarf episode "Emohawk: Polymorph 2". A large man, Steven made picking Craig Charles up and carrying him away look very easy. Nineteen years later, he returned to the show to play the BEGG Chief in "Entangled".
Trivia[]
Craig Charles stated in the "making of" documentary for Series VI that Steven was extremely fond of his role as Lister's Bride, getting a little carried away during the honeymoon scene. There is a "Smeg Up" outtake that has the two actors pretending to fall in love.
