Third Technician Dave Lister
Third Technician is a rank within the Space Corps. It is the lowest enlisted rank, followed by Second Technician, and is a position generally filled by space bums.

Dave Lister held this rank aboard Red Dwarf, where he was the lowest ranking crewmember of 1,169, cleaning the nozzles of the chicken soup dispensers on Z Shift. Lister speculated (with considerable sarcasm) that he had authority over the ship's laboratory mice, although he did accept (at that point) that he could not give orders to the Skutters. ("The End")
