"Tutt" Johnson was a prisoner and former crewmember aboard SS Enconium, a 24th-century spaceship where all forms of complaint and criticism were illegal.
Meeting the Dwarfers[]
After patiently waiting in line at the canteen, when it was Johnson's turn, he was told by Greta that the canteen had just closed. He was then "pushed" into "tutting", for which he was given a life sentence.

The Crit Cop and a few other officers then put Johnson into Hannibal Lecter-style restraints and took him to the prison cells.
There, Johnson met the boys from the Dwarf, who had recently been imprisoned when Cat called the Crit Cop "lieutenant asshole" when he wouldn't listen to their warnings about their collision course with Planet Rimmer. Johnson said that their punishment wouldn't bare thinking about, and they would probably be "drained", although he wouldn't criticise it since it's probably really lovely.
After the Dwarfers escaped by causing an explosion using Helium-7 scraped off the bottom of Lister's moon boots, Johnson asked the Dwarfers to take him with them. He promised that he was no longer a danger to society, and that he would never tutt again. However, as the Dwarfers were instantly recaptured by the Crit Cop, Johnson tutted. ("Timewave", Series XII)
